Controversial Wilmington brewery Edward Teach announces closure

Edward Teach Brewing has long been a complicated name in Wilmington’s music scene. Once a popular stop for live shows, the brewery became a point of division following the highly publicized incident involving Madonna Nash and local musicians. Now, after years of controversy and declining operations, Edward Teach has announced it will close its doors later this month.

I stopped by Bowstring last night to catch Tobacco Road w/ Emerson Bruno & Undercurrents + Magic Attic. Three talented bands, great energy, and somewhere between sets I picked up a card with links to Emerson Bruno’s music. Check out a few of his tracks here — my favorite so far is “Ten Seconds ’Til Transmission.”
